Seen from a viewpoint about 4km outside Cherrapunji town, not up close — the falls drop into a gorge, so this is a lookout stop rather than a walk-down. The pool below is at its clearest, most turquoise in winter and early spring; during monsoon it runs a heavier, murkier brown from silt.
