Right across from the beach and Kuta's Discovery Mall, which mattered more than we expected with tired kids at the end of each day.

Genuinely well maintained, animals looked healthy and enclosures spacious by the standards we've seen elsewhere in Southeast Asia. The tram safari ride is air-conditioned, a lifesaver at midday with kids. Bring your own water, what's sold inside is marked up.

Free, but honestly our kids were bored within ten minutes — there's not much for young children to interact with beyond looking at carved stone. Good shade and clean grounds at least, so it worked as a rest stop while we let them run around the courtyard. Wouldn't build a whole day around it with under-6s.
